Tengo dudas sobre la traducción de "cut-through" en dos frases. En la primera se habla de derechos humanos. Hela aquí:

"UK government grew impatient with the barrier that the UK’s own Human Rights Act posed to deporting terrorism suspects to countries which still have the death penalty. The solution chosen by the UK government was to propose abolishing its own Human Rights Act rather than campaigning for universal abolition of the death penalty. Another CUT-THROUGH on the question of human rights and justice is to ask which is more likely to bring realization of the Sustainable Development Goals closer: acceptance and applica- tion of the UDHR principles, or acceptance that in some places the rights of women and minorities are less than those of men and majorities?"


En la segunda el autor del texto está exponiendo las diferencias entre objetivismo, relativismo y subjetivismo:


"Relativism is a natural corollary, perhaps indeed it is the defining characteristic, of postmodernism. A commendable motivation for it is the desire to promote reciprocal respect between different cultures and value systems, and to make amends for cultural as well as other imperialisms of the past. The price paid for this worthwhile motive is a lack of guide-rails for dealing with the very real problems faced by the world and people in it. There is a CUT-THROUGH on this question of values. It is to cite again the fundamental justification for thinking about human rights – that there are certain fundamental experiences that human beings can have and which the vast majority of them do not like, such as being hungry, in pain, cold, alone, abused, oppressed, imprisoned, denied opportunities, treated as worth less than some other group or gender, and the like."


He estado mirando y en este contexto no me cuadra que sea nada tipo 'atajo'; también he mirado las consultas para "cut-through" en ProZ y ninguna tiene el significado que se le da aquí. En general, los otros diccionarios que he consultado (Collins, Cambridge, Oxford-Lexico, IATE, algún que otro tesauro) no recogen su uso como sustantivo. El Macmillan Dictionary lo define como "the quality of being able to gain attention for something, especially in the media, when this is difficult (by ‘cutting through’ the other stuff)", pero creo que sigo sin entenderlo bien y no le encuentro una traducción satisfactoria.
