Dutch term or phrase: vergrijzing
Hi colleagues,

I came across a term I'm not 100% sure how to translate.
Licht degeneratief aspect van het AC-gewricht. Gedeeltelijke vergrijzing van het subcoracoidale vet. Geen verdikking van coraco humeraal ligament.

Is it simply "ageing"?

Any help would be appreciated.

Adhesive Capsulitis of the Shoulder

The sagittal T2-weighted image (2B) shows replacement of the subcoracoid fat by intermediate signal soft tissue thickening (asterisk), with synovial and capsular thickening at the anterior inferior aspect of the glenohumeral joint (short arrow). The coronal fat-suppressed T2-weighted (2C) and T1-weighted (2D) images through the rotator interval region demonstrate replacement of the subcoracoid fat (asterisk)(2C) with superimposed edema (asterisk)(2D).

Furthermore, obliteration of the subcoracoidal fat pad can also be observed. The MRI examinations also show a hyperintensity in the T2-weighted imaging and a contrast enhancement of the joint capsule. The alterations can show a temporal correlation with the clinical symptoms of the patient.

This one is interesting as well:

Several findings suggestive of adhesive capsulitis are associated with structures related to the coracoid process, including an abnormally thickened coracohumeral ligament measuring more than 4 mm, an abnormally thickened rotator interval joint capsule measuring greater than 7 mm, fibrosis in the rotator interval, and the subcoracoid triangle sign. This sign is loss of fat signal intensity in the triangle between the coracoid process, joint capsule, and coracohumeral ligament (Fig 19).

subcoracoid triangle sign

Explanation:
The subcoracoid triangle sign refers to the obliteration of the fat triangle between the coracohumeral ligament (superiorly), coracoid process / coracobrachialis (anterosuperiorly) and glenohumeral joint capsule (posteroinferiorly). It is considered a specific but not sensitive sign for adhesive capsulitis of the shoulder

--------------------------------------------------

Partial or complete obliteration of the subcoracoid fat triangle was determined in the sagittal oblique plane. Borders of the triangle were defined anterosuperiorly by the coracoid process and coracobrachialis, superiorly by the CHL, and posteroinferiorly by the joint capsule. Partial disappearance of the fat signal was considered partial obliteration of the subcoracoid fat triangle under the coracoid process, and complete disappearance of fat signal was considered complete obliteration.

fat stranding

Explanation:
"Fat stranding is a sign that is seen on CT. It describes the change in attenuation of fat around an inflamed structure and is a very helpful signpost for intra-abdominal pathology."

Yes, I found it about the same time.

Not sure whether that situation is the same as here.

The assumption there is that focal areas of fat have come into existence, with their corresponding greyness.

While in this case it sounds like the fat itself has become more grey.
