Same sentence as in my previous query. Context: an academic article covering themes such as ageing, longevity, death, etc. I´m revising a translation into English.

Cualquiera que fuera la duración máxima de la vida humana, nos parecería, primero, natural, y, segundo, insuficiente, siendo el hombre como es: escindido, dual, contradictorio, inseguro, agónico, ávido de ser/querer/saber, impotente, insatisfecho e insaciable.

I know this is referring to the duality of human nature, however sticking in "duality" doesn´t fit the flow. I´m writing in UK English so dualistic doesn´t seem right either. Querying "dual" because without a noun immediately afterwards it doesn´t sit right with me. Not sure whether to assume that´s just me.

My current (revised) draft is:
...given that man’s nature is divided, dual, contradictory, insecure, mortal, eager to be/to want/to know, impotent, dissatisfied and insatiable.
