German term or phrase: gebr. Hinterg'stell
Not sure what the word Hinterg'stell (Hintergestell) means in this context. This comes from a letter, written in Vienna in 1941 by a woman describing some of the birthday gifts she had received:

It's all quite clear except for the "gebr. Hinterg'stell." I would assume the first word stands for "gebrauchten," i.e. used, but that's really a guess on my part.

Handwoven sashes, belts, and ribbons have long been a staple of Czech folk costumes. I'm assuming that at that time, people were very happy when they were gifted tools that allowed them to work on their traditional crafts.

"From dear father I got a very beautiful hydrangea with two flowers and two buds. Mrs. L. and Gisa also brought me a bunch of flowers (grafted hops), a pair of stockings and also a bra, and from Beate I got a bouquet of roses and a beautiful brooch, which pleases me overall. But the most beautiful gift was a package from Brod with 2 combinations (! nightgown to follow), a branded back panel and a box of sweets..."

-> thanks! First learned weaving in the 70s... :-)

agree  philgoddard: I'm not totally sure, especially since I wonder whether this would fit in a 'Päckchen". But it seems a reasonable guess.

-> Inkle looms are quite small, and the warping part is easily taken apart. It's then just a small bundle of wooden pegss
