En un libro sobre pedagogía que fue publicado en 1923, en Iowa (EUA), aparece esta expresión que supongo es jerga. Aprecio mucho las sugerencias brindadas, y en especial, aquellas que pueda entender una comunidad heterogénea hispanohablante que reside en Estados Unidos.

"Little and big are just the words they ought to use, and any teacher who attempts to force upon them the more dignified words of older people only succeeds in making herself appear ridiculous in the eyes of sensible parents.
But notice again that the children are told to find the bottles which the teacher has set before them. This would imply that the bottles were lost or hidden. This hot-house teacher has probably read some where that it is wrong to say "I have got it," where mere possession is intended, as "I have got a book," for "I have a a book," and she has concluded from this that it is improper to use get and got under any circumstances. So instead of saying "John may get one of the bottles," or "which bottle did John get ?" she says "John may find one of the bottles," and which bottle did John find ?"
But the scholars are not through yet with this lesson in language, and before the close their teacher has them talking about "a large thick box," and "a small thin box." No doubt in the second lesson she will have developed their ideas and language to such an extent that she will have them talking about a large thick cellar, and a small thin room; and by the third lesson she will have devel- oped the ideas and language of their parents to such an extent that many of them will use some large, broad language about these very long, thin lessons."

El contexto en el que está el término 'hot-house teacher' deja entrever cierta crítica. El o la docente (si es que 'docente' sirve para evitar la marca de género) hace el ridículo al usar 'find' y no 'get'. Entonces, el autor reprueba esa elección sugiriendo que emplea técnicas propias de alguien que no tiene una óptima formación.
Falta contexto para decidir si es un docente que emplea técnicas de hot-housing o que ha sido "formado" mediante ellas.
No es un maestro exigente ni necesariamente especializado en niños precoces. De hecho, el autor no lo describe como un buen docente, a juzgar por la frase irónica con la que cierra el fragmento citado.

Según la APA, "Hothousing" es el proceso de acelerar la enseñanza de los niños a traves de una instrucciópn intensiva para aumentar el desempeño académico.
Por ahí he visto que se traduce literalmente (del inglés "hothouse") el término: algo así como "enseñanza de invernadero".
Habría que pensar en cómo tratar este "Hothouse teacher..."

Sí lo creo, Cantarina. Con la introducción del kindergarten en el siglo XIX ya se podría hablar de hothousing. Hay mucha literatura al respecto y, desde que se instaló el sistema de kindergarten, el tema ha generado controversia. No obstante, hothousing como tal se adoptó en la decada de 1980 formalmente. Cualquiera de las sugerencias que te han hecho aquí los compañeros te puede servir para resolverlo. Estoy seguro de que hot teacher se refiere al tema que te sugerimos.
