Portuguese term

No seu conjumto (ver frase)

Portuguese to English Science Biology (-tech,-chem,micro-)
Tenho dúvidas, re: o sentido de uma frase numa tese de fisiologia:

"..cada fibra muscular isolada, cada fascículo e cada músculo no seu conjunto, estão revestidos por tecido conjuntivo. O próprio músculo inteiro está envolvido por uma capa de..."

A mimha dúvida é o que quer dizer o autor com “cada músculo no seu conjunto” . Pensei que fosse “each muscle in its entirety” mas a frase seguinte menciona o “músculo inteiro”. Quer o autor dizer o músculo como conjunto das fibras e fascículos??

Ficaria muito agradecida se me ajudassem a esclarecer... Thanks!!!
Proposed translations (English)

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "I believe this is closest to what I need. Other responses were good too, but this one was first. I really just needed confirmation of the sense. Note: muscle/motor unit has a very specific sense in physiology (functional unit of the muscle) and can't be used here. Thanks to all!"

in its entirety

Yes, in its entirety, your first instinct was right I think. Writers are often very repetitive...
Peer comment(s):

agree Ana Rita Santiago : I think that's what the author means.

each muscular unit

This could be a way of giving this idea, that it is the muscular unit and not the strands that make up the muscle.
Peer comment(s):

agree Muriel Vasconcellos : Absolutely: 600+ hits on Google for this phrase (some with descriptions) and 700+ for "muscle unit" (but not necessarily with the same meaning). (I think) you deserve 4 points!
