help with (idiomatic?) sentence

Spanish to English Art/Literary Art, Arts & Crafts, Painting General conversation/commentary
This is a quote from an artist known for his somewhat didactic children's stories and illustrations. The artist is childlike himself, and fascinated by children. So this is what he says about his aims in his work, after having just stated his desire to be their "Rey Mago":

Thank you for the help; my brain has turned to mush!

Thank you for the suggestion -- I hope that a few more will turn up as well. Native speakers would be particularly helpful.

We must give the child...

We must give the child all the fresh tasting juices of live, and get him involved in pain, to awaken the spirit of compassion for things that are not wholesome

Just a suggestion.

agree Ana Juliá : Creo que quieres decir "the fresh tasting juices of LIFE", ¿no?
