mind-numbing
the idea of "rollo patatero" is really "a mind-numbing tendium". However, this expression is very common in colloquial Spanish, while "mind-numbing tendium" is not that common in English. If it matches your context, great. But if it doesn't, I guess "really boring" is alright, though it sounds to me very loose.
