chapen to a ak to prekladate pre USA podla mna tam staci section of/area of.
Teda podla mna to moze byt residential area, hamlet area, small village area.
Turns out to be more difficult than I'd thought...

:). The text I am translation is in bureaucratese, so I don't want to use something that has different connotations, though I AM ready to believe that, as Scott says, district is often used to refer to "část obce". So perhaps something that isn't "idiomatic" is actually better (provided it is used - sometimes), as it tells the reader - watch out, you're dealing with a specifically Czech term...
there are several things here in CR that could be considered districts, so no, nothing is reserved. Pilsen, Ostrava , etc. are cities, whose "casti" are called districts ( less officially quarters as well) viz. Poruba District. Okresy were districts too (and courts still are) and have been incorporated into the (relatively) newly established Regions. But obec is a municipality regardless of size, and any one of them can have a district, I believe. Because quarter, part of town, these things don't belong in official terminology.
Explanation: as in Municipality/district ...all kinds of versions... borough, etc. but I'd call this a district. That's the term we used for SMO (Ostrava)
