Danish to English Other Furniture / Household Appliances
Is there an English phrase which captures the meaning of this Danish expression?

lounge furniture

This is the term I am most likely to use when describing that type of Danish furniture. However, to me it seems like even the Danish term itself is constantly evolving and often overlaps with other descriptions like hvilemøbler or loungemøbler.

agree Websyster (X) : I'd focus not on the furniture itself but on the type of room where this furniture is used, e.g. "living room furniture". Lounge is good, as it implies both the act of lounging and the room "lounge".

This is the first thing comes to mind.

neutral Pernille Chapman : Good in some contexts, but not all "sidde-/hvilemøbler" include a mechanism for reclining. And I can only think of "easy chair", which of course doesn't cover the full meaning either...
