Does anyone know the translation for "geassocieerd tot" in this context. the latter medication was previously 50 mg 1 to 2x / dag. Could it mean increased?

Well that means an error won't have a direct impact on someone's health. Not that I'm pro error but it's less scary than the thought it's being used as a basis for someone's treatment.

The documents I am translating seems to me to be a report to an insurance company as it is the status of someone after a road traffic accident and there are a number of medical reports all setting out the progress etc.

as long as a bona fide En medical expert is also consulted. This looks like one case where the translation really has to be spot on.

I do understand and agree that errous would be out of the question. I could suggest a translation, but would ask the client to check with the source to make sure it was as I suggested.

guessing here is irresponsible imo this is medical and guesswork isn't really an option. I know it's "kudoz" but someone may be really depending on an accurate translation.

I have more than 30 years' experience in dealing with medical records and insurance reports. I would prefer my suggested wording to Phil's because the two medications are not really being combined; they are being taken alongside each other. The statement implies that no adverse drug reactions are to be anticipated from taking the two medications alongside each other. It is a very small difference but, strictly speaking, the two medications are not being combined. There are certain drugs which are classified as combined medications and that is not what is being referred to here.

That's assuming that XXX and XXX are two different drugs.

neutral writeaway : an erroneous translation here could have serious effects if this treatment has to be followed as written. It would be great if a real medical expert would chime in (I know of one but she's more or less stopped Kudozzing). Scary stuff

It may be an odd choice of words (I don't know, as a non-native speaker), but the meaning seems perfectly clear to me.

That seems both logical and normal. The Dutch word is rather strange in the context, but ingestion is kind of associating with what you have swallowed. ;-)

Well, if you "take" combined with" as being a roundabout way of saying ingested. I think my answer is simpler and more to the point - and it is not the "same"!
