systemically administered

English to Arabic Medical Medical: Instruments Medical devices

"systemically" here is a context-specific term, so what is the most appropriate AR equivalent?

Discussion

Marwa Seleem Apr 29, 2020:
The purpose of my note to point out that I didn't update after the discussion, and l yes it is for systematic administration to give a clearer context to the asker to understand the meaning of "systematic" as he asked, in it was obvious in my explanation!
And no need to alert the asker, I hope I made myself clear 😃
Fuad Yahya Apr 29, 2020:
Thank you, Marwa, . . . for pointing out the timestamp on your answer. I can see now that you were already on the right track. I will agree to your answer and I hope that the asker will choose your answer. I must, however, point out that الإعطاء الجهازي is a translation of "systemic administration," not "systemically administered," which is the term in question, so I will add a note to alert the asker.
Marwa Seleem Apr 29, 2020:
Just note You can see Mr. Fouad timing of my answer and update to add another source, it was before the whole discussion 😃
Thank you again for your efforts to help in every possible way!
Fuad Yahya Apr 29, 2020:
Thank you, Saad. I appreciate your kindness, but there is no need now to re-post. My goal was to help, and I have already accomplished that. I see that some answers have been updated to reflect the new information, so you can perhaps choose one of them.
Saad Ahmed (asker) Apr 29, 2020:
Note to Mr. Fuad Yahya I apologize for restricting the job to Proz.com members only. I didn't mean to exclude anyone. I have now un-ticked this option.

Please post your answer, it is the most appropriate to the context.

Thank you very much!

معك حق، شكرًا على التنبيه
Fuad Yahya Apr 28, 2020:
I cannot post an answer to this question . . . because of a restriction place by the asker about who can or cannot post an answer. However, I would hate for the asker to miss out on receiving an answer that might be the right one.

I worked at a medical institution for 11 years, so I am familiar with the word "systemic" when applied to any treatment. A systemic treatment is one that addresses the entire body. It usually is infused through the blood stream so as to have a chance to spread through all body organs and tissues. The opposite of such a treatment is what we call "local," which is administered to a specific part of the body.

The English-Arabic medical dictionary known as المعجم الطبي الموحد, which is used by the World Health Organization, translates the word "systemic" in two ways:

مجموعي
أو
جهازي

Systemically administered =
مُعطى بصفة جهازية أو على نحو جهازي
مُعطى بصفة مجموعية أو على نحو مجموعي

I apologize for submitting my answer in a discussion entry, but I had no other choice. I only hope that it helps.

Thank you!
agree Fuad Yahya : I would recommend مُعطى جهازياً to fit the syntax. If the modified noun is feminine (or inanimate plural), then it would be مُعطاة جهازياً. If you prefer to use نعت جملة فعلية, it would be تُعطى جهازياً. The choices are quite open.
