'francouzský chléb', 'veka'
'veka' is the common term for French style of bread, although a dictionary translates it as 'bread roll'

Interestingly, pictures of \'baguette\' on the Internet are pictures of \'French bread\' as we know it here in the U.S. If \'bageta\' is what the Czechs call it nowadayz, then be it. It used to be called \'veka\'. I thought perhaps they use \'bageta\' for what we call here in the U.S. a \'French roll\'.

bageta
I daresay "bageta" is more precise, as it refers exactly to the long thin bread made in France.

: French bread and baguette may be of the same dough, but here in the U.S. they are two different commodities.

veka OR bageta
in czech language we use both, either one will do fine. Bageta comes from a french word and it tends to be slimer that classical czech veka.
