STAGE 1
Drill a 3mm (approx.) pilot hole where the antenna is to be located.
- Single sided fitting
Drill a l9mm hole. Proceed to STAGE 2.
- Double sided fitting
Drill a l2mm hole. Fit the feeder assembly through the hole. Push the weather
seal over it. Place the base moulding over it. Screw on the base insert and
tighten firmly by hand.

@ Schtroumpf OUI, Cyril a le même contexte, avec une phrase de plus que celle postée en 2007, puisqu'il doit être traduit en espagnol. En janvier 2020, il devait être traduit en français, mais apparemment le client n'en était pas satisfait et a commandé une nouvelle traduction.

Bizarre Moi qui travaille en France depuis 40 ans, je ne peux pas répondre à cause du réglage de la question sur des critères d'exclusion tels que "français langue maternelle uniquement".
Or je vois qu'on peut répondre tout en étant de langue maternelle allemande et moins fluide en français que Tony et moi. C'est un bug ou quoi ?
Enfin, moi je traduirais par qqc comme "montage passe-cloison" pour double-sided.

- the kind of device and its purpose?
- the type of antenna and data emitted or received?
- the kind of wall or panel?
- the kind of wiring or cabling?
- what parts can de mounted on the inner side and which on the outer side?
- the mounting type of the device parts?

@ Asker It means the method of fixing to be used if you have access to the panel from one side only, or from both sides. Perhaps something like 'montage d'un seul côté / montage des 2 côtés ?
'Fitting here definitely refers to the action of fitting (generally 'pose'), rather than to the physical object 'a fitting' (raccord, appareil, etc.)

I understand that the complete device is mounted onto one wall side, or the device is split and two parts of the device are mounted onto each wall side and connected by wiring put through the 12-mm-hole.

Unfortunately we do not know what is described under "stage 2". Probably similar to "double side fitting".

I conclude from the context that for "single side fitting" the feeder assembly is screwed to the wall on the inside, and the base, weather seal and antenna on the outside.

The context has already been asked for translation to Spanish in 2007:
Drill a 3mm (approx.) pilot hole where the antenna is to be located. Clean away swarf with a light cloth. The antenna can be mounted on panels up to 3mm thick.
Having decided on cable routing, proceed to STAGE 1.
STAGE 1
a. Single sided fitting
Drill a l9mm hole. Proceed to STAGE 2.
b. Double sided fitting
Drill a l2mm hole. Fit the feeder assembly through the hole. Push the weather seal over it. Place the base moulding over it. Screw on the base insert and tighten firmly by hand. Proceed to STAGE 3.
STAGE 2
Install the feeder assembly through the hole, cable first. Hold the feeder assembly and centralise in the hole. Push the weather seal over it; this will hold the feeder assembly in position. Carefully place the base moulding over it. Screw on the base insert and tighten firmly by hand.
STAGE 3
Tighten up via the base insert using a small open spanner, 4Nm torque (3 foot pounds) maximum.

neutral Tony M : I don't think this is about fitting it TO both sides of the panel; rather, the expression would be used in EN to describe the situation where you have / do not have access to both sides for working. / The EN usage seems quite clear and unambiguous to me.
