Comment traduiriez-vous cette indication ? C'est une entreprise qui se présente : "located in London EC1". J'aurais tendance à dire simplement "au centre de Londres" car je crois que leur intention est de montrer qu'ils sont bien situés, donc recommandables (tout comme un arrondissement ne dirait rien à une personne qui ne connait pas Paris). Quel serait votre choix ?

Ec1 détermine effectivement la localisation, c'est intraduisible, comme un arrondissement. si je vous mets mon adresse dans le 16° arrondissement de Paris, et que vous le traduisez par quartier chic ou proche du Trocadéro, vous déformez.

: Si l'intention est effectivement de faire dire au lecteur londrophone "belle adresse" avec l'intonation d'un Parisien, un simple EC1 n'a pas grand sens pour qui ne connaît pas les codes postaux chics londoniens

: Most of the Square Mile is in fact in EC2, EC3 and EC4 // MOST of EC1 is outside of the City - the intended connotations are far from obvious! One thing is sure leaving it as it is is as meaningless as trying to transpose it to "the same in Paris".

: I suspect that a majority of Londoners would put the "centre de Londres" somewhere near Oxford Circus, not in EC1 which is around 4km to the east.
