Hey everyone. I was translating a text about a singer and i had problem translating this part:
"The music he created became so hot so quickly."
"Die Musik, die er schuf, wurde so schnell so heiß."
So i am not sure if it is right to use "heiß" here but it souns weird to me even though my German isn't that good and i am trying to improve it by doing these translations. One alternative i can think for this is the word "populär" but if any professional translator could help me with this i'd be grateful. Thanks in advance.

"heiß" indeed sounds weird. you could say "populär". in the context of music, you will often hear that something is "angesagt" (en vogue). depending on the context, it might also be possible to write "heiß begehrt" but this would rather refer to sold records.

I think a literal translation can never catch the meaning here. I would choose the term "begeistern" , because it expresses the essence of the term "hot" in this context.
Example sentence:
Die von ihm kreierte Musik begeisterte die Menschen schnell.

To start with, I would never translate this sentence literally (as one frequently does in school). The style depends on the context, the author, the era this relates to - plenty of factors which would impact my translation.
Possible options:
Seine Musik wurde unheimlich schnell "in"/der Hit/ein Riesenerfolg/ ein Verkaufsschlager
A person younger than me would probably choose something completely different.
