Military exercises for "AIR BREATHING" THREATS

The laundry list of capabilities is quite extensive: Air Force F-15 and F-16 fighter aircraft; Army Patriot and Avenger missiles, Navy ships with Aegis track-and-destroy radar systems, satellites, but this will not be an exercise in logistics. The exercise is to practice linking these distributed capabilities fast and effectively for homeland defense - in particular against "AIR BREATHING" THREATS such as cruise missiles or commercial aircraft that have been turned into missiles. They also can be commercial aircraft that have been turned into missiles. The traditional and asymmetric threats are real and the C2 capability to deal with them is just as real.

Mi opción sería "amenazas poco convencionales" pero no estoy segura, ¿podría alguien darme un poco de luz sobre el término? Gracias :)

Asker: Muchas gracias DLyons! Me confunde el término "cruise missiles", al no tener experiencia en el campo lo relacione inmediatamente con "agua". Shame on me.
