English term

practice before..

English to Swedish Law/Patents Patents
Are you currently registered to practice before the United States Patent & Trademark Office?

Vad menas med denna mening? Vad är det personen i fråga ska/får göra? (Utöva sitt yrke som advokat?)

Tack på förhand!

Discussion

Kristian Andersson Jun 12, 2013:
Info "The PTO only allows certain qualified persons to practice before the PTO. Practice includes filing of patent applications on behalf of inventors, prosecuting patent applications on behalf of inventors, and participating in administrative appeals and other proceedings before the PTO examiners and boards. The PTO sets its own standards for who may practice and requires that any person who practices become registered."

One must have passed the patent bar exam. One may only sit the patent bar exam if one has an engineering or applied science degree in addition to one's law degree.
