French term

rheïne

French to English Science Food & Drink
I am translating a text on constipation relief and I am unsure how to translate this term which is an active ingredient of rhubarb. Here is the context is appears in:

Googling for "active ingredient of rhubarb" I found this http://mt.china-papers.com/2/?p=48498 where they talk about rhein. rhein + rhubarb takes you to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rhein_(molecule)
Peer comment(s):

agree Lorna Coing : Definitely agree (and I think the French word shouldn't have a trema on the 'i', which probably didn't help with asker's search!!)

thanks - not to mention an accent on the 'e'! Gets rid of the river hits at least!
agree philgoddard : This should have been very easy to find by Googling.
