Hipped roof
This seems to be the term used. I believe a tented roof is more steeply sloped.

: But there are plenty of hipped roofs that aren't "heruntergezogen" - the one term doesn't translate the other.

Comment: "Thanks, I had already awarded you the points but the question was duplicated so I have to do it again. I added the phrase "with eaves low to the ground", following other suggestions. "

low-hanging roof
Hipped roof alone is not sufficient to describe the German term as that just means that the roof has a slope. But you could combine the two, if you want.

the low lying roof

Die Wohnverhältnisse waren eng und bescheiden, und das tief heruntergezogene Dach liess nur wenig Licht in die Wohnräume.

The living conditions were cramped and modest and the low-lying roof let little light into the living rooms.

: Happy New Year! Is this some kind of ProZ website issue? At another question, one post showed up twice in the discussion box. Not the first time something like this happens.
