German term

Abschlussstrecke

German to English Bus/Financial Finance (general)
This is about the IT-based process involved e.g. when a customer opens a new bank account. There is a set of steps - customer data, identity documents, account features - that have to be completed by the bank employee on screen. in German, the procedure is "Abschlussstrecke" - has anyone come across the EN term for this? Apparently also used a lot in relation to insurance, but I have been unable to locate the EN translation.... Many thanks for your help.

Discussion

Daniel Arnold (X) (asker) Feb 27, 2020:
Agree Chris. The document is sort of a manual that describes the steps involved for the employee working through the screens. With Johanna's input, I think calling it a "step-by-step new customer registration" will work well, even though it's long, but there seems to be some emphasis in the source doc on the "*strecke" in the meaning of a sequence of screens with forms for data input.
Chris Pr Feb 27, 2020:
"...completed by the bank employee..." ...should amount to little more than an internal "account registration, confirmation or approval process".
Perhaps too much is being read into the underlying 'sequential' connotation...?

HaHa!! How to make fool of yourself? IT's easy!
Daniel Arnold (X) (asker) Feb 26, 2020:
That is unfortunately pretty far from what it means in this context, but thanks Ramey!
Ramey Rieger (X) Feb 26, 2020:
Hi Daniel! The term comes from horse racing and is commonly used in athletics:

I agree, I am currently working with acquisition process but let's see if someone comes up with something fancy :-)
philgoddard Feb 26, 2020:
There are lots of things you could call this, and no right or wrong answers. One possibility is "account opening procedure".
Daniel Arnold (X) (asker) Feb 26, 2020:
sure,

Die Dateneingabe erfolgt in der Abschlussstrecke und der App der Bank.

As mentioned, it's about opening a bank account.
philgoddard Feb 26, 2020:
Could we have the German context, please.

Maybe sth with “multi-step” could work?

you could use
Multi-step sign up process / multi-step registration form/template

A multi-step form is a long form that is broken into multiple pieces.

"Abschluss" seems to mean something like "(deal) closing", but I wouldn't use this term in this particular context.
