German term

Handwerk mit Leidenschaft

German to English Marketing Wine / Oenology / Viticulture Brochure for a winery
It's a brochure advertising a 400-year-old winery in Franconia. The style in German is very flowery so I am trying to match it in English. There are several big headings "Wir leben Wein" , " Wein und Architektur: Wie eine gelungene Cuvee" and this one:
Der Keller . Handwerk mit Leidenschaft

Wir arbeiten mit dem, was die Natur uns schenkt.
Und das ist reichlich. Die Qualität wächst im Weinberg
......
Bei der Vinifikation steht die Qualitätserhaltung,
welche bereits im Weinberg konsequent betrieben wird,
im Vordergrund. ....
So entstehen authentische Weine, die durch ihre
Persönlichkeit und ihren Facettenreichtum einzigartig sind.
Synergie von Mensch und Natur.
Weinbereitung mit Sensibilität und Augenmaß…

What do I use for "Handwerk" here ? And is there an alternative to "Passion"?
Thanks in advance to any wine-loving colleagues with bright ideas!
Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

Non-PRO (1): Chris Pr

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Discussion

British Diana (asker) Jan 31, 2020:
@ Lancashireman Not really in this kind of sentence, otherwise I do like "dedicated". But with the help of Phil's "passion key" we can save time when translating (Where is the humour smiley?).
Lancashireman Jan 30, 2020:
Asker And is there an alternative to "Passion"?

Answer is apparently in the negative.
philgoddard Jan 28, 2020:
Along with "sustainable", "passion" is just so overworked at the moment, I'm thinking of having a "passion" key added to my keyboard.
Lancashireman Jan 28, 2020:
Leidenschaft We're passionate about translating!
Translation is our passion!

(Oberammergau: "We're passionate about our Passion Play")
Edith Kelly Jan 28, 2020:
franglish I would agree with your proposal.
Steffen Walter Jan 28, 2020:
Perhaps ... ... "Our/The cellar. Our heart and soul goes into it." as a translation of "Der Keller. Handwerk mit Leidenschaft".
franglish Jan 28, 2020:
Craftsmanship with body and soul

testament to our craftsmanship and passion

We need to integrate 'wine cellar' into the expression. Perhaps something like this:

"The wine cellar - testament to our craftsmanship and passion."

Normally I have a preference of verb phrases over noun phrases. But in this case, I would agree with Edith.
Note from asker:
Thanks, Michael. Your suggestion is indeed "flowery" but the word "testament" has too many deadly overtones for me. I like "craftsmanship", though.
Peer comment(s):

agree philgoddard : Yes, it's not about the wine.

agree Edwin Miles : Elegant and suitably flowery

Thank you Ramey! I like your ideas but have decided to stick nearer to the source text this time.
Peer comment(s):

agree Lancashireman : 'dedication' makes a pleasant change
3 hrs
Yes, I'm passionate about variations.
agree Björn Vrooman : This one also sounds more like reaping rewards through hard work. E.g.: "...a family-run wine company with a dedication to craftsmanship spanning 80 years..." https://www.burntshirtvineyards.com/about/ Dedicated craftsmanship works, too.
