Dionysian
Referring to the cult of Dionysus, the ancient Greek God of wine. (For the Romans, he was Bacchus, hence bacchanalia. Western art and civilization abounds in references to Bacchus and Dionysus.) In the philosophy of Nietzsche, of or displaying creative-intuitive power as opposed to critical-rational power. A great read is Euripides' play Hippolytus, where Hippolytus' limbs are torn to pieces by the women in an orgiastic frenzy. (Zionism is something altogether different, referring to Judaism.)
