"Tego rodzaju zmienność genetyczna" - to nie to samo, co "odmienność". Wg mnie w zdaniu sugerujemy, że dany genom jest nie taki sam, jak większość w populacji, ale niekoniecznie sugerujemy, że "zboczył z ideału". "Diversity" sugeruje różnorodność w pozytywnym (lub neutralnym) znaczeniu.
