Please note I am a Spanish↔English technical translation student.
I am unable to find in dictionaries the translation from Spanish to English “superar
con aprovechamiento” This is the sentence: La estudiante antes mencionada ha superado con aprovechamiento
el contenido y pruebas de evaluación del curso.

….successfully completed the content and passed the evaluation tests of the course with the following academic performance:
Grade: WITH DISTINCTION

With All The Rights, Honors, And Privileges... ...pertaining to the degree", not "benefited from". The former expression is what appears on all of my degrees.

Different Question This isn't the exact same question. Anyway, the asker seems to have indicated that the student has achieved more than just a mediocre grade.

It's not just "goddard's interpretation", it's that of the person who answered last time and the seven people who agreed with her.

I think the literal meaning is "and benefited from", but you obviously wouldn't say that on a certificate.

You can "successfully complete" an academic degree or a course with just mediocre grades. See https://vfa.aacc.nche.edu/Lists/Glossary/DispForm.aspx?ID=19... goddard's interpretation failed to address "aprovechiamento". "Successfully completed", in other words, is far too vague, in this instance.

neutral philgoddard : Your reference doesn't prove anything, except that "pass with merit" is a phrase in English. Cristina has translated it as "distinction", but I think that may be wrong. We shouldn't be guessing with something like this.

We've had this before, and I agree with the answer:

I would say something like "successfully completed the course and examinations". The Spanish is very wordy, and you shouldn't reproduce this in your translation.

Does it actually say "With distinction"? Yes, it says: Calificación: Sobresaliente. The original diploma is from Spain. I translated thus: Grade: With Distinction. I have seen British diplomas and they use With Distinction which in Spanish is Sobresaliente (American English: Outstanding). Regards
