@Neilmac You´re totally right. "Soplapollas" has nothing to do with performing any sexual activity in whatever form. It´s just a vulgar synonym for "idiot". Both answers posted are wrong.

soplapollas
1. m. y f. malson. Persona tonta o estúpida.
neilmac Jul 14, 2020:
@Robert I believe it's a more vulgar version of "soplagaitas"; the root meaning is basically anything to do with sucking. https://dle.rae.es/soplagaitas

I'm not sure how much value there is in discussing these terms and people submitting answers. I would just substitute English insults in approximately the same register. I assume you're looking for US words.
Robert Carter Jul 14, 2020:
Possible typo warning: presumably it should be "soplapollas". I could hazard a fairly good guess at what it means, but I'm unfamiliar with slang from Spain (assuming it is from Spain).

imbecile

Given the in-Discussion comments by Toni and Neil, along with the DRAE definitions of not only 'soplapollas' but also the related term Neil identified, perhaps 'imbecile' would do. Indeed, this is about as offensive as they come in standard English, without resorting to term, which could be considered inappropriate, referring to those with cognitive challenges.

I hope this helps.

Oops: I meant to say, "...without resorting to a term, which could be considered inappropriate, referring to those with cognitive challenges."

Glad to have helped, guillen!

There could be several translations, of course, and depends what English you want it in, but I'd say this is a better translation into US English.
