This description sounds like the filet/tyndstegsfilet on diagrams of meat cuts issued by Kødbranchens Fællesråd, (Danish, but I translate mostly from Danish...)
It compares with the diagram in my Cookery Encyclopedia from the Good Housekeeping Institute...
