lappar

Swedish to English Social Sciences Media / Multimedia lappar
Can anyone help with the word "lappar"? As in the following sentence:

Att tvätta med sina grannar har både sina tjusningar och utmaningar. Detta är vad man får upp om man googlar lappar i tvättstugan…

Thanks in advance.

Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

Non-PRO (1): Madeleine MacRae Klintebo

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

notes

People doing their laundry in the laundry room (tvättstugan) at times feel the need to write a note to other users about what to do or not to do in the laundry room.
Peer comment(s):

agree Agneta Pallinder : I think notes is better than notices; less official sounding. Also, like "lappar" in can also refer to just the piece of paper, see e.g. Post-It Notes

notices

I think this refers to notices you might see in the tvättstugan
See reference and there are lots of others too on the Internet
Peer comment(s):

agree Thomas Johansson : I feel this is better than notes. It's more specific.

I try to avoid giving a "disagree" when I have an option but I'm sure that "notice" is better here as you a "note" is something you have to give to the other person whereas a ''notice" is for something put up on a wall. Thanks for the "agree"
