I have spent my entire adult life as a specialist in communications -- journalism and business consulting -- working mostly in Europe.

For much of my career, I was a consultant and financial journalist, focusing on Spain. For the past decade, I have been a senior editor with Agence France-Presse, dealing with the Middle East.
