Introdução: Filicídio é o ato de matar o próprio filho. Em Portugal, existem poucos estudos que procuraram avaliar o perfil dos filicidas e tentaram entender os motivos da prática do filicida. Neste contexto, os principais objetivos desta investigação foram: fazer um estudo de casos de filicídio em Portugal, caracterizar os filicidas e as vítimas e determinar os motivos que levaram ao filicídio.
Material e métodos: o estudo foi baseado na análise de processos judiciais de pais condenados por matarem os seus filhos biológicos no Porto entre os anos de 2005 e 2018. As variáveis em estudo foram: características dos crimes, dos autores e das vítimas. | Translation - English
Introduction: Filicide is the act of a parent killing his/her own child. In Portugal, there are few studies that sought to assess the profile of filicides and tried to understand the reasons behind such a practice. In this context, the main objectives of this investigation were to: undertake a case study on filicide in Portugal, describe both the perpetrators and the victims, and determine the causes of the crime.
Instrument and methods: The study based on the analysis of the lawsuits of parents convicted of killing their biological children in Porto between 2005 and 2018. The variables studied were the characteristics of the crime, offenders and victims. |
