John Cutler Spain Local time: 19:36 Spanish to English + ... Two notes, various matters | Jul 18, 2010 |
Looking around on my desk I see two scraps of paper on which I've written notes to myself. One is to remind me where on my computer I'm saving a certain project (useful when you work on more than one computer). The other includes some telephone numbers, invoice calculations and a reminder to call someone about a business matter. Personally, I prefer recycling bits of paper instead of using post-its.

I wrote notes all the time | Jul 18, 2010 |
I have post-its in various colors and sizes, and I put them on all kinds of surfaces, from horizontal to vertical. I make it a point to toss (recycle) them once the purpose has been served.

I'm not sure if I could count them. I have one long note (or rather notepad) and I just keep adding on to it. The main purpose is not so much to remember as it is to reduce my concern that I am going to forget.

Years ago I used to write myself notes on little scraps of paper that would inevitably get lost or misplaced. So I started keeping a log book that merely consists of a notebook in which I note all job assignments and other important information. Problem solved.

My Yahoo calendar (and my paper organizer) are very useful tools for managing business, at least for me. I use both of them to organize when I have an assignment, expected pay days, calls I need to make, things like that. The reminders really come in handy.
24 hr Lucky Reminder | Jul 18, 2010 |
I use this application all the time. Some of my clients require invoices to be sent on a specific day of the month and this programme flags me the day before. I also use it for things like 'remember to turn off the lentils/stew/whatever in X mins' since a kitchen disaster last year. It's also useful with things like kids' dentist/doctor appointments, etc., stuff I'd easily overlook otherwise.

I use the "stickies" on the dashboard on my MacBook Pro to write reminder notes.

I didn't write a note and forgot that today's the last day for VAT payments! (or is it?) I wirte many notes, then I don't need them: writing things fixes them in my memory. But I did NOT write a note about this! Thanksfully, it's still early...
usually I don't but | Jul 19, 2010 |
I don't usually write notes, but as in this period I am working on a number of translations with similar deadlines, I wrote down a couple of notes, with No. of project, deadlines and status (to be writte, proofread or other...) otherwise I can mix al the deadlines!!
