Description Food industry is one of the main spheres of activity of humankind. In the modern world, it is of utmost importance and in many cases the activity of a food busines or project spreads across the borders of several different countries. It includes multiple diverse businesses from farming and food production to packaging, distribution, retail and catering that collectively supply food for the global population. A lot of research is also done in the area of food production and consumption with a strong emphasis on healthy food. For translators it is a vast source of translation job opportunities. This course will provide a general overview of the complex sphere of food industry, focusing on projects, documents and organizations where the services of translators are in a constant demand. We will also briefly touch the issues of terminology and available Internet resources.
