من التعريفات التي ستجدها في المواقع المذكورة، يتضح أن كلمة مخنث قد لا تفي بالمعنى المقصود هنا. فالمخنث شخص يعاني ازدواجية في الجنس (هو وسط بين الذكر والأنثى)، أما المصطلح موضع السؤال هنا فيشير إلى اهتمام الرجل بمظهره لدرجة زائدة عن الحد لا أكثر، ويدرج الموقع الثاني عن أصل الكلمة عدم إشارتها بالضرورة إلى الشخص الموصوف على أنه شاذ؛ فقد يكون الشخص مستقيما في علاقاته إلا أنه ميال للتغنج زيادة عن اللزوم، أو بالأحرى عن الحد المقبول أو حتى المعقول.
المخنث شخص يتسم بالشذوذ الجنسي، وهذه الصفة لا تنطبق على هذا المصطلح في الاستخدام، لذلك فأعتقد أن ترجمة مقبولة قد تكون "رهف" بكسر الهاء أو "متأنث" بكسر النون. وستجد المصطلح "متأنث" في العديد من نتائج البحث على الشبكة مستخدما للإشارة لهذه الصفة.
