Tech/Engineering - IT (Information Technology) / Alarm Generation
German term or phrase: Ausgabestelle
"Alarme müssen über folgende Ausgabestellen visualisiert werden:

- Alarm Popup
- Alarmviewer (immer im Vordergrund und kann ausgedruckt werden)
- Drucker"

Talking about the generation of alarms in some computer program or other. The standard "dictionary" translation of "Ausgabestelle" is "issuing office", but this is COMPLETELY WRONG in the present context. Here, "Ausgabestellen" refers to the alarm popup, alarm viewer and printer. Nothing whatsoever to do with any offices. So what does it mean here? Issuing points? TIA for any light you can shed on this most unusual use of the word "Ausgabestelle".

These terms appeared elsewhere in the text in a context that seemed to confirm "display option" as the correct answer. However, in line with Armorel's peer comment, I think I might enter "display/print option" in the glossary. Thanks to everyone for their assistance and apologies for the slow grading.

Explanation:
Could it be that they are just talking about an area where these things have to be made available?
*Output area - A part of storage that has been reserved for output data. Also known as output block.*

I am not sure about this, just a first thought.

Explanation:
Dare I suggest that combining both the previous suggestions might be preferable. As Armorel implies in her comment, a printer would not usually be referred to as a display in English, nor, in my opinion, would a printer be referred to as an 'area'.
