English term

swiftcode (URGENT!)

Non-PRO English to Italian Bus/Financial Finance (general)
I am about to receive a payment from London, and this time they asked me for my swiftcode: is it the ABI or the CAB? They already know my IBAN .

As soon as you answer me I can get my money!!!!
Change log

Dec 14, 2007 16:08: Chiara Righele Created KOG entry

Aug 2, 2008 09:22: Monica M. changed "Level" from "PRO" to "Non-PRO"

Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

Non-PRO (3): Chiara Righele, Luisa Fiorini, Monica M.

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Discussion

In any case, Lietta, was it a language question or a practical question to be posted in a forum?
Sabina Winkler CAPIRSI Dec 14, 2007:

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. I genuinely thought it was the correct thing to do, as I needed a translation of the term 'swiftcode'."

Codice Swift

ask your bank!

Is another thing, that has nothing to do with your account. You should ask your bank, every bank has a different swift code. !0%, please... :)
Peer comment(s):

agree Colin Ryan (X) : ABSOLUTELY. What the hell is this doing in Kudoz?!

codice swift

I am sure about it, I had the same problem with my Bank. In Italy it's called "codice swift". It's used only for International transfers, so your bank should be able to tell you wich one is it. It's also written on the "estratto conto" usually.

codice BIC o swift
