German term or phrase: U/Zeichen
I am translating an Ethics Committee report.
'U/Zeichen' appears in the address column. This is followed by the name of a person and telephone number.

U/Zeichen Ms. X 0064 0.... etc.

I got several hits for 'Ü-Zeichen' (Übereinstimmungszeichen) in google, but I am not sure if this is meant here.
Can anybody help me out here please?

Explanation:
If this is for a committee, U could be for Umlauf 9(that is circulation in this context), meaning each member signs a list, acknoweldging recepit of papers, information

Signature

Explanation:
"U/Zeichen" you can also find often on letters and to the best of my knowledge this is for Signature and the Zeichen is the abbreviation of the name of the one who signs the letter.

Hi Sonali,
This is how I saw it on letters already. In your case it would be Sonali Hedge/SH.
Unfortunately, I currently have no example for you to show what I mean.

Asker: Hi BiancaN Please correct me if I am wrong. If my name is abbreviated, then U/Zeichen would be Signature/ SH: Sonali Hegde
