Describinbg the visitor's impression of India as a country
I am proofing a text translated from Swedish, which was done in a hurry and the client wants a second opinion.
Most of it is fine, but they have changed a small technical point and asked for a few words to be replaced by synonyms.
So far so good, but the client does not like the sentence
´India is a wonderful, many-faceted country.´ It comes in the introductory paragraph.
That is literally what the Swedish says, and I would leave it, but they want a synonym or equivalent.
The text is about collaboration between two companies and the excellent relations, approach to problems, adjustments to each other's cultures etc. and how much each side has benefited from the deal.
After a long, hard day my mind is a blank, and the text should have been at the printer's last Friday! The client admits it is largely their fault, but I'd like to help them if I can.
Grateful for any suggestions!

with many aspects
But like you, I prefer multi-faceted, which has an analogy with a well-cut diamond.

Comment: "Thanks - the Danes say fast help is double help!
We went for ´India is a country with many fascinating aspects´ in the end.
Had someone seen ´The Jewel in the Crown´ and got nervous about post-imperialism, I wonder? A pity the translator wrote ´many-faceted´ instead of ´multi- ´ or we might have got away with it, but this happens under pressure!"

"Multi-faceted" sounds better to my ears.

: I like Will Matter's "highly diverse" too. Other possibilities could be "complex", "complicated", "many-sided" ....

Just another suggestion. "Highly diverse" is another. Good luck.

Excellent suggestion. See what happens when we all collaborate and cooperate? Synergy rocks! Thanks for the 'agree'.
