Damaged property an insurer takes over to reduce its loss after paying a claim. Insurers receive salvage rights over property on which they have paid claims, such as badly-damaged cars. Insurers that paid claims on cargoes lost at sea now have the right to recover sunken treasures. Salvage charges are the costs associated with recovering that property.

As seen in online use above - Many/most sources use ניצולת with a "yod", mistakenly using the word נִצֹּלֶת [nitzolet] which, though very close, is the Hebrew translation of "utilization".
"Salvage" is נְצֹלֶת [netzolet]
The two words are based on different verbs:
נְצֹלֶת comes from להינצל - be salvaged
נִצֹּלֶת comes from לנצל - utilize

: A) You refer to the activity, not the object! BTW: note that originally NO Academy Glossary [Insurance,maritime,accounting] mentions הַנְצָלָה, only נְצֹלֶת (object-noun) & הַצָּלָה (gerund). Later it WAS accepted (2008), but is a verb-gerund.
