Spanish term

Pañol y esc. de vela

Spanish to English Tech/Engineering Ships, Sailing, Maritime
This term appears in a list of items on an architectural plan for a sailing club in Spain. The complete list is as follows:
1 Vestíbulo
2 Locales comerciales
3 Administración
4 Comedor
5 Cocina
6 Cafetería
** 7 Pañol y esc. de vela **
8 Zona de espectadores

Pañol is a kind of storage space (?) and I guess 'esc. de vela' is 'sailing school' but I can't see what they have to do with each other, any good suggestions for the whole thing? Many thanks!

Sail loft and sailing school

Pañol is a "nautical term" for storage space, as you say. Generally in a sailing school, yacht club, harbour, boatyard it's the place where the sails are stored. Sails need to be folded and stored properly out of the sun if they are to last. The boats (in a sailing school they're small,) are usually outside stored on racks, under a roofing. I'd therefore go for sail loft rather than storeroom, even though they're bound to store other gear there like tillers, cordage, wet and dry suits, etc
