With all due credit of course to Marie, who first suggested this in the explanation to her answer.
Because there has been an interruption and XXX has restarted, the understanding or knowledge it has of the status of this or that element is based on earlier information and hence may or may not still be valid, whence the 'probably' flag.
I think the source term 'understanding' is prone to misinterpretation here, but I feel the writer was seeking to make it clear that this is not 100% factual 'knowledge', since it is based on extrapolation from what was known previously.

the fact is I wanted to answer "connaissance" and give "point de restauration" as an example but this approach is not possible in the form. I didn't find any "clue" or Web reference for connaissance.
