Education in the Dominican Republic is divided into different levels (similar to elementary, middle and high school). "Nivel Medio" lasts 4 years and is divided into two "ciclos". The first one is the same for all students and the second one gives options. You can choose "Modalidad General" (General Studies), "Técnica" or "Artes".
