It's easy to translate "doing well", and it can very well be translated to "talentueux" or so many others words... However "going places" is a little tougher.
I chose to translated it as successful, and successful can typically be interpreted as "accompli" in French, a succesful man would be "un homme accompli". A man who gets things done, who has done well for himself and who is at the peak of his career.

: "Débrouillarde" would translate to "handy" or "crafty". I truly think the meaning of "doing well" lies elsewhere.

Babylone traduit par "réussir", Reverso par "to become successful", et aussi :

to become very successful. I knew that Sally, with all her talent, would

Peut-être quelque chose comme :
- "Une personne talentueuse qui ira loin"
- "Une personne talentueuse et prometteuse"
- "Une personne talentueuse qui fera fortune (un jour)"
- "Une personne talentueuse qui réussira (dans la vie)"
(ou remplacer "une personne" par "quelqu'un").
