Discussion
"Cake cones (are they ‘cake’ (no) or are they made by communion-wafer bakers?) do nothing except support the ice cream and not all that well. There is a tick-tick-tick timer going as they lose their architectural integrity, get mushy, and collapse half way through a double-scoop serving. Sugar cones stand up to the challenge of a multi-scoop and they have that lovely good-to-the-last bite. Plus they have a better ice cream-to-cone ratio and add a nice crunch to the experience. —Chris Penberthy, research director"
