French term

Parementure américaine

French to English Other Textiles / Clothing / Fashion men's jackets
From the description of a jacket 'Parmenture américaine avec doublure intérieure en chambray' or, 'Parmenture américaine en suédine'. I know that parementure or parement is the facing used on the edge of an opening in a garment, and before anyone points it out I can see that it is spelt incorrectly. I have been wondering if the American bit simply means that this facing has been pieced rather than created by turning in the edge of the garment fabric.
Proposed translations (English)
4 American facing
3 Inner Lininig

It turns out that this is called French facing in English - I haven't closed the question yet because I am still trying to work out how to leave this answer on Kudoz as it was really not easy to find!
