Over Baked
If pie has an overbaked appearance (burnt crimp and/or top crust peaks), check the following:
• Baking time is too long – reduce bake time.
• Oven temperature is too high – decrease oven temperature.
• Topped Pies – use lower recommended temperature settings and longer bake time to reduce over browning of topping/nuts.
