Dictionary.com: degree = an academic award conferred by a university or college on successful completion of a course or as an honorary distinction ( honorary degree). So you can simply insert the name of the award in question into my suggestion ("the degree of Bachelor of Science is hereby conferred upon...")

In my case when I was awarded my Italian degree it was "la laurea di Dottore in Architettura" (I have it right here on the wall). i.e. Doctor of Architecture.

Discussion
A "laurea di Dottore in Architettura" does not translate as "Doctor in Architecture", unless - as my notes show - this is an academic award higher than an undergraduate degree. I received my nursing degree from an Italian university, and for the Italians I am "Dottore di Infermieristica". But that does not make me a Doctor for the purposes of an English text - I simply have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
