tour of duty

English to Arabic Other Military / Defense
For military soldiers, a tour of duty is usually a period of time spent in combat or in a hostile environment. For example, in World War II a tour of duty for a Royal Air Force (RAF) bomber crewman was 30 flights. That number could take up to 12 months.

Two authoritative Arabic-English military dictionaries both present these two renditions.

[2] Dictionary of Military Terms (3rd Edition), Staff Major General Mohammed FatHi Amin, Baghdad, 1982

Hope this helps. Khair, in shaa' Allah.
