English term

Play now

English to Spanish Other Gaming/Video-games/E-sports instruction in games
Should the correct translation of Play now be Juega ahora or Jugar ahora?
I've seen a lot translation Jugar ahora, but isn't it incorrect and should be Juega ahora since Jugar is infinitive, or
Jugar ahora is also correct?
Thanks.

Selected

Juega ahora / jugar ahora / jugá ahora

For me, all alternatives are correct. To choose one will depend on the context and the tone you want to give it.

Juega ahora: sounds more like an invitation
Jugá ahora: imperative cognotation
Jugar ahora: go better if it's a bottom

agree Florencio Alonso : You mean button, not bottom, but yes. I would use "Jugar ahora" for a clickable text, which is most usually the case.

Both are correct!

Hey, Brion!

As the title suggested, both are correct! I would ask you for mode context, but I'm sure you have none! If what you have to translate is that phrase, withouth an exclamation mark or anything else, I would go for the infinitive form Jugar ahora, as it may be a title or a button. However, if it's possible, I'd recommend to ask your client for mode context :)

Big hug!

jugar

Interesting question!

I'd say both options are correct and used. Let's see some Google results:

"Jugar ahora" --> 707.000 hits
"Juega ahora" --> 760.000 hits
"Juegue ahora" --> 21.100 hits

Apparently, the two options you suggested are used quite often. If I had to choose one of them, I'd probably use the infinitive, "Jugar ahora." However, my suggestion would simply be "Jugar," without "ahora," as it sounds more natural to me.

I hope this helps!
