malte vetrate o perlate

Taken from an interview with an artist:

"Successivamente, mi dedico alla decorazione della tela utilizzando malte vetrate o perlate, pietre Swaroski, paillettes, perline, polveri glitterate o, in certi casi, rose stabilizzate."

Any ideas? Is 'mortar' the best term to use here?

No, I wouldn't use "mortar"

she takes varias pastes that after solidifying become glass-like or pearl-like (mat); and puts them on her fabrics like strass etc...

I have seen many descriptions of materials used in paintings "iridescent plaster on canvas"...
Example sentence:
