English term

i. v. urography, i.v. urogram

English to Italian Medical Medical (general) esami radiologici
Viene descritta in breve la radiografia standard dell'intestino crasso, dopo somministrazione di mezzo di contrasto.

In order to display arteries, veins, intestinal loops or other hollow organs, these must be filled with substances that absorb the X-rays to a greater extent than under normal circumstances.
The substance administered must not be toxic.
A frequently used contrast agent is barium sulphate, an insoluble, non-toxic salt of high density.
For vessels, iodinated molecules are normally used as a contrast agent.
They are safe and well tolerated by most patients.
Because they are excreted again via the urogenital tract, the kidneys, ureters and bladder (i. v. urography, i.v. urogram) can also be displayed.

i.v. = intravenous. Comprendo che sono due esami diversi, mi pare. Ma come si traducono? Grazie.

Note from asker:
Quindi non sono due esami diversi. Nella precedente edizione avevano tradotto con urogramma e pielogramma intravenosi (ma non ho a disposizione l'inglese originale...).

Intravenous urography, urogram and pyelogram

Urography uses imaging and contrast material to evaluate or detect blood in urine, kidney or bladder stones, and cancer in the urinary tract.

Urography with conventional x-ray is known as intravenous pyelogram (IVP) . Urography is also often performed using computed tomography (CT) or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). CT and MR urography are painless and proven effective in detecting urinary tract issues.

An intravenous urogram (IVU) is a test that looks at the whole of your urinary system. It's sometimes called an intravenous pyelogram (IVP) .

An intravenous pyelogram (IVP), also called an intravenous urogram (IVU) , is a radiological procedure used to visualize abnormalities of the urinary system, including the kidneys, ureters, and bladder. Unlike a kidneys, ureters, and bladder x-ray (KUB), which is a plain (that is, noncontrast) radiograph, an IVP uses contrast to highlight the urinary tract.
In IVP, the contrast agent is given intravenously, allowed to be cleared by the kidneys and excreted through the urinary tract as part of the urine. If this is contraindicated for some reason, a retrograde pyelogram, with the contrast flowing upstream, can be done instead.

Thank you very much, they are definitely two different exams and not the same concept.
